County. Campers, hikers, nature lovers, and anglers enjoy
the Chattahoochee National Forest and Cohutta Wilderness Area.

Blue Ridge City Park, and the McCaysville City Park.
Economy
The County's growth in per capita income (57.7%) in 2000 outpaced
the growth for Northwest Georgia, the Fannin County Labor

than such share for Georgia. Employment by retail trade firms
also exceeds that of the region. Fannin County's employment
in the accommodations and food services industry is also fairly
rare. These are characteristics of a community with strong
economic drivers such as tourism and newcomer attraction.

value of owner-occupied homes has increased by an astounding
81.1 percent from 1990 to 2000 in Fannin County. And in 2002
Smart Money Magazine Real Estate edition listed Blue Ridge
as one of five best places in the US to purchase a vacation
home. Why is this community a choice retreat? No worries about
over development because 42 percent of Fannin County is National
Forest Land.

arts community & civic organizations, and scenic surroundings
